3rd Annual Courage to Come Back Awards Banquet Presented by Russell J. Salvatore
Our hallmark fundraising event is The Courage to Come Back Awards banquet, an annual event which celebrates individuals who have made substantial progress in recovery from psychiatric conditions and/or dependence on drugs and/or alcohol as well as individuals who have had a significant role in encouraging and facilitating the recovery of these individuals. The Courage to Come Back Award honors individuals who have made substantial progress in recovery from psychiatric conditions and/or substance use conditions. The Recovery Advocate Award honors individuals who have had a significant role in encouraging and facilitating recovery of individuals psychiatric conditions and/or substance use conditions. 2018 Courage to Come Back Award Honorees: Annika Thomas, recovering from depression and anxiety; former NFL player and Super Bowl winner Keith O’Neil, recovering from bipolar disorder who speaks out about mental illness; former University at Buffalo football great, Alex Neutz, in recovery from depression, anxiety and prescription drug dependence who helps young athletes, adults and parents to recognize signs of mental illness and addictions; Alex's mother, Adrienne Neutz, in recovery from alcohol dependence. 2018 Recovery Advocate Award Honorees: Buffalo Bills great and NFL Hall of Famer, Thurman Thomas and his wife, Patti; and Dan and Stacy Gagliardo of D’Avolio Fine Oils and Vinegars, who support and assist Restoration Society through donations of food to Harbor House Resource Center (a service center for homeless individuals) and sponsorship of an annual fundraiser to benefit Restoration Society.
